Breathe is a retreat center located in Cambutal, Los Santos Province. If you're wondering how to get to this serene paradise, fear not, as we have a comprehensive guide for you.
There are several ways to get to Cambutal, including rental car, bus, taxi, private car, plane, or a combination of these options.
Here, we will explore these options in terms of affordability, convenience, and speed, so you can choose the best option that suits your needs.

Renting a car is the most convenient option if you're on a tight vacation timeline or if you want to have full access to all the surfing and exploring options that Panama, Azuero, and Cambutal have to offer.
There are several international car rental services at the Panama City Tocumen Airport, and additional locations throughout the city. It's best to reserve a car prior to arrival to save money and time.
If you're staying in the city first and do not want the hassle of having a car, take a taxi or hotel shuttle to your hotel, and rent a car when you're ready to leave the city. Taxis are the cheapest and easiest way around Panama City.

It's essential to note that car rental insurance is the most expensive part of renting a car in Panama. You can save money by investigating whether your credit card or domestic insurance provides coverage before arrival.
All types of vehicles, from a Toyota Hilux Pickup truck to a small, gas-efficient two-door car, can get you to and around Cambutal.
However, those who have traveled to and stayed in Cambutal recommend renting a 4×4 vehicle, which will give you full access to the wilds of the ocean coastline of the Azuero Peninsula and the beaches of Cambutal.

If you decide to drive, there are some directions to follow. Panama is a well-policed country, and all driving laws and speeds should be observed during your travels. The Google Maps app is excellent for Panama and is a must-have for your international enabled cell phone with GPS for car travel in Panama. We recommend printing out Google Map directions from Panama City to Cambutal. Your route is as follows: Panama City to Las Tablas, Las Tablas to Tonosi, Tonosi to Cambutal.

Flying to Pedasi and Taking a Taxi:
If you want to avoid the long drive from Panama City to Cambutal, you can fly to the Pedasi Airport located just 45 minutes away from our retreat center. There are two domestic airlines in Panama that fly to Pedasi Airport: Air Panama and Mapiex. Flights are not daily so be sure to plan accordingly.
Once you arrive at the Pedasi Airport, you can take a taxi to Cambutal. Taxis are available outside of the airport, and it is recommended to negotiate the price before getting into the vehicle. While this option is the most expensive one, it saves you time and is a great option for those who want to avoid driving long distances.

Combination of Bus and Taxi:
If you're traveling on a budget, taking a bus to Las Tablas or Tonosi is the most affordable option. Buses are available from Albrook Bus Terminal in Panama City, and they operate daily. Once you arrive in Las Tablas or Tonosi, you can take a taxi to Cambutal. While this option takes longer than renting a car or flying to Pedasi, it is a great way to save money.
